 1. Please don't send me a blank invite. Talk to me! Tell me where you know me from or how you were referred to me. You must know me from somewhere to invite me, right? I can't accept every invite so please don't be offended if I don't. I only accept invites from members that I've met in groups and have interacted with here on Multiply, or referred to by one of my contacts. And if your entire profile is empty or hidden to the public, there's no way to even know anything about you. Show SOMETHING there to the public. How else are we going to know anything about you to accept or decline?? And if you don't have a headshot and your site is empty, that's an automatic decline from me.- 2. Please do not invite me if there is no English on your site or group. I can't read your site or group so I cannot contribute, thus we have no common ground.
- 3. Don't just collect headshots. The number of contacts you have does not equate to popularity or validate a reason for your being here, so it's not necessary to invite everyone you "discover" online. I am not offended if someone refuses an invite from me. Please don't be offended if I have to decline an invite. It's not personal! It just means we don't appear to have a common interest.
- 4. Please don't paste long text into my guestbook that distorts my homepage. I have html turned off so no images or code can be pasted there, but long poems and such should not be posted in a guestbook.
- 5. Please don't mass PM me. A mass PM is a pm sent to many people. These are an annoyance, as they won't go away. I delete mass PM's from my inbox, unread. Post to your site and let us see it there instead. If you are concerned I might miss something important, PM me the link. (Sometimes things do get lost on my inbox). PM's are PERSONAL messages and should be used for that with a select few (or one).
Feel free to c/p this post or any portion of it, and edit to suit you. Post it as public and send the link to it when you need to.
